Sire de Grugy

Good morning folks,

Looking forward to watching Sire de Grugy at Ascot this afternoon - I've become a big fan. He qualifies on the system mentioned yesterday so fingers crossed he gives a good account of himself. Here's today's Irish Independent article:

Backing the best chasers

I mentioned this simple system in the paper some time back and I've been asked to update the results. Basically, the system involves backing the best chase horses in certain races. Sounds a bit obvious but it seems that certain horses, often at the top of the market, still go off at better prices than they should. The rules are simple enough:

* Race is a Chase
* Horse has an official rating of 165 or higher
* Horse is the top-rated horse in the race
* Horse is race fit (ran in the last 60 days)

It's had a couple of losing years and I'm not saying you should follow it to the letter but if you see a horse matching the above criteria, you should certainly take note. The results below are to a €10 stake using Betfair SP and assume the backer is paying 5% commission:

Happy New Year 2014

Good morning folks, sorry I haven't posted much on here lately, I took some time off over the Christmas to spend time with the family and go racing - and to get away from the computer.

2013 was a good year for me on a number of fronts although I didn't get done all I wanted - I may do some sort of review when I get the chance and have a look back at my goals for the year and see what was achieved (or not). I'll get back to that hopefully over the next couple of days. For now, there's not a lot happening with the weather but I fancy a couple at Newcastle and Cork which have survived.
