Once I won, I was then limited to around 5.00 euro stakes on some horses. I am not permitted to place more than 0.70 on some of the other bets on their site. Pathetic! Of course, Paddy Power wants to keep tight fists on their 130 million euro annual profits at all costs!!! They have millionaires to protect. My little itty-bitty stakes might eat into their gigantic profits!! I don't think I'm ever going to get to a point of fully automating things (I'm not certain I want to either as I enjoy trading) but I do like the idea of leaving one or two spreadsheets running and triggering bets based on things like prices etc while I'm not at the screen. Obviously, you also have to spend time actually trading proper to understand the markets (and therefore know what automated systems to set up) so I think there always has to be a human end to it. I've automated some minor stuff at the moment which can run while I'm away but it's mostly traditional backing and laying and some in-running stuff. Actual proper trading is a lot harder to program I've found. Thanks again for the comments. Can't wait to get home and get stuck in! Dabbled in it before but never really felt I 'knew' enough as to what was going on in the markets, despite buying various guides and video packs (Caan Berry, Jack Birkhead) all excellent at what they do but nothing ever really clicked, so I focused more on football trading (which I have now got down to a nice % growth per month on average)
Well feck me! It did when I read your book, you posses and excellent writing style and get the points over very well.
May well start a blog, more of a diary for myself when I get back, will let you know how I get on.
Love the human mindset traits you refer to throughout the book also. Very interesting. Disipline has never been an issue for me it's more 'losing runs' that effect me terribly and not through too high of stakes either!

I'm getting a lot better though and this is a long road to master.

Thanks for an amazing book, just what I've always been looking for really. Will write a nice review when I get back!

Cheers WayneBetting and Tradinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10790309307231081253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4886290627263554877.post-17692530137978402562015-02-04T15:51:31.232+00:002015-02-04T15:51:31.232+00:00Good afternoon. If so, yes, that has proved profitable (1820 points to a £10 fixed liability since 2008) and as you point out, it has been a mor even ride. Something I may consider more. I really believe that's what puts people off because they think you are just guessing which way a price will move. For the Support and Resistance method it is about spotting a 6-8 point range where 90 percent of the money has gone and getting in at the bottom or the top depending on which way the price is shifting. Thanks for showing me that, its pretty reliable and fairly stress free trading!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12563078899206660719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4886290627263554877.post-42072479676160334772015-01-03T08:11:07.615+00:002015-01-03T08:11:07.615+00:00Thanks for your comments on the book Steve.
